To become fully free from an abusive past, a single mother with her two kids and cat moves to a little town six hours from everything they ever knew. She must learn to trust again and face the things that, up until the move, held her back. This is a story of fiction, with truth weaved throughout. The stories shared of the mother and children’s past, characteristics and health issues are all genuine and true. There were happenings in the year it was written that were incorporated into the story, but only little tidbits. It is a “what if” scenario played out, with a few twists and turns along the way, of a family beginning their next chapter of life.
