Synopsis:
“To become fully free from an abusive past, a single mother with her two kids and cat moves to a little town six hours from everything they ever knew. She must learn to trust again and face the things that, up until the move, held her back. This is a story of fiction, with truth weaved throughout. The stories shared of the mother and children’s past, characteristics and health issues are all genuine and true. There were happenings in the year it was written that were incorporated into the story, but only little tidbits. It is a “what if” scenario played out, with a few twists and turns along the way, of a family beginning their next chapter of life.”
This book was written by Thea’s mom and gifted to Thea to help her raise money to follow her artistic dreams, which are quite costly. It was written over seven months (May 2018-December 31, 2018). Through 2019 nothing was done because I doubted my ability to be an author and became terrified to put it out there. Once the pandemic hit, something shifted in me. With the help of my father and his girlfriend we spent most of 2020 editing the book to be able to offer it as a download. The cover was created by Thea. I gave her a vision I had, and she brought it beautifully to life. Another reason I fought (myself/self doubt) to get it out in the world was to not be hypocritical when telling my daughter to believe in herself and take chances, strive, push herself to make her dreams come true.
